Beautiful and historic Deer Path Inn, located on the North Shore of Lake Michigan, in Lake Forest Illinois, offers a dream setting for your wedding. As a recognized landmark and member of the Historic Hotel Association of America, we offer a quaint and traditional setting for a truly unique event.
The Deer Path Inn was originally constructed in 1929 and served as a weekend haven for the well-to-do Chicagoans, and also as a home away from home for out-of-towners visiting relatives and friends. A quote from a 1929 newspaper article describes the Deer Path Inn as it still is today, ”...All who inspected the hotel were impressed with its beauty, and the many facilities provided for the comfort and convenience of its guests”.
The Inn was designed by a Chicago architect, William C. Jones, who is know for designing several hundred churches throughout the mid-west, and also for his work on the 1893 World’s Fair. The Inn was styled after the Manor House (circa 1453) in Chiddingstone, Kent, England. It was a charming half-timbered and stucco Tudor-styled manor home. The Deer Path Inn maintains their link to Britain today by flying the Union Jack flag over the front entrance, and also by providing a complimentary British/American newspaper to their guests.
The high standards of quality, personal service, inviting guest room accommodations, elegant meeting facilities and fine dining continue to define the Deer Path Inn today.
